What
is my registration number?
Your registration number indicates
the order in which you’ll register on your 1st day of camp. The
lower the number, the sooner you’ll register. You’ll receive
this number via email from the Registrar once your application
is processed. The registration order will also be posted on the
mess hall during registration.
How come I did not receive a registration number by e-mail?
Registration numbers are sent by
email if an email address is provided. Be sure to provide a
valid email address that you check regularly. Otherwise, we will
send a letter of confirmation in the mail (post). If applying by
mail, please write legibly.
Am
I to pay the $225 in addition to the $75 deposit?
No. The cost to attend camp is $225
per week ($205 if you’re paid in full by June 1st). For mail-in
applications, a $75 deposit is required to process your
application and receive a registration number. The balance of
the camper fee is due on Registration day (or by June 1st if you
wish to receive the $20 discount). Online applications require
you to pay in full at the time of application.
My child will be
staying for 2 weeks. Do I need a registration number for the
2nd week that my child is going to be at camp?
No. You only go through the
registration process once (on your child’s first day). When your
child’s second week starts, he/she will already be registered in
camp. Your child will remain in the same cabin for the 2nd week.
Does my child need any
money?
No. The camper fee provides
everything you need for camp (including a Wamava T-shirt &
canteen privileges). There is nothing for your child to purchase
during the week.
Can
he/she bunk with her friend?
Camp Wamava cannot guarantee
cabin/bunk assignments. Cabin assignments are chosen by the
campers in the order they’re registered. It’s the only way to
make it fair to everyone. Your friend’s cabin may be full before
your registration number is called. We encourage you and your
friends to register early in order to bunk together (but you’ll
have a good time either way).
Can he be with the
same counselor that he had last year?
Even if your previous counselor is
returning this summer…again, we cannot guarantee cabin
assignments. Register early.
What if I
need to pick them up before Sat AM?
Please inform your child’s counselor
and the camp director if you need to pick up your child prior to
Saturday AM.
I cannot bring my child until after 5pm Sunday.
Where do I
register when I arrive at camp?
If you arrive at camp after the registration period, locate the
camp Director to register.
Is
there a Bible my child can use? Does it matter what version?
We encourage your child to bring a
Bible in a version he/she can understand. We have extra Bibles
at camp if your child needs one.
Can I call my child to see how he/she is getting along?
Camp Wamava only has one phone line.
Therefore, it is reserved for emergency use only. We encourage
you to email your child or
send letters/postcards.
Emails and letters are distributed twice a day during lunch and
dinner mealtimes.
How can my child
get in touch with me?
In case of emergency, we will
contact you by the phone number provided on the application.
Otherwise, your child can contact you via mailed letters. Please
provide your child with stationery and stamps if he/she would
like to write home.
If my child
is camping consecutive weeks, do I need to pick up him/her
the Saturday of the first week and then return the next day?
Yes. This is a
significant change for 2012. All two-week campers must go home
Saturday (pickup between 9-11am) and return Sunday (between
2-4pm) for their second week. You will not need to register
again for the 2nd week.
